Evaluation of Music Magazine Q.1

I have utilised many conventions of music magazines in my product. On the front cover of my magazine, some of the conventions I have stuck with are quite obvious. The masthead is written in a unique and easily identifiable font, and is also, like many other music magazines, behind the head of the main actor in the image, this is quite common in magazines.

I have used some very aggressive fonts in my magazine, which help to connote that it is part of the metal music scene, it is quite common for magazines to do this, to fit in with their chosen genre of music/hobby, I have also included images of musicians throughout my magazine, which is done by every music magazine in print, otherwise it wouldn't be a very good music magazine.

On my cover i have included a memorable tagline, in an easily identifiable font, giving some continuity between this issue, and anypossible future issues, so that people who like it and would like to buy it again, are able to easily tell which one it is on the shelf.

The coverlines of the magazine are in bright colours, which brings them to the readers attention, and the text that makes up the coverlines, will want to read more of the magazine, which is the main purpose of the coverlines.

I have also used many conventions inside the magazine, i.e. on the double page spread, the article is laid out in colloms, and has a large central image, is is the same for nearly all spreads in magazines, i have also included images and breif outlines of pages on the contents.
